TIMOTHY O’DONNELL

Timothy O’Donnell is an American long-course triathlete and has earned 50-plus podium finishes including more than 22 wins at major events throughout the world. Among the wins are eleven Ironman 70.3 victories, two IRONMAN wins, six Armed Forces National Championships and an ITU Long Distance World Championship. At the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, Timothy finished 4th in 2018, 6th in 2016, 3rd in 2015, and 5th in 2013.


 

MIRINDA CARFRAE

Originally from Australia, but now residing in Boulder, CO, is one of the world’s most successful triathletes. Her 2007 70.3 World Championship win secured her ticket to the Ironman World Championship in Kona. In 2009 she set a course run record and finished second. She went on to place first in 2010, 2013, and 2014. Her 2013 win included the third fastest marathon time of both men and women, a course run record, and a new Kona women’s course record marking her as one of the greatest triathletes to ever compete

The Race Course

The race start is located on an island in the middle of the longest Czech river Vltava. Swim around the island, experience the cheering of many supporters on boats and enjoy the views on Prague’s scenery. Bike course will take you outside of Prague to the beautiful surrounding of the city. Enjoy the fast part along the river all the way up to Nature Park Radotín-Chuchle Grove.

Training

The city of Prague offers great possibilities for athletes. Dip into river or enjoy the summer sun in one of the open water swimming pools in the proximity of the race venue. You can enjoy run in one of the many city parks or natural areas in the surrounding of the city. There is no better way how to explore a city than doing sightseeing while running! Hop on your bike and hit the cycling path going through the city alongside of the river. Enjoy the beautiful scenery that Prague has to offer or many of the popular pit stops on the way!

The Venue

The venue of the race is located in the historical city center of Prague. The transition area is placed on a bridge connecting the west side and east side of the city with a view on some of the most famous monuments of Prague. On one side you can see Charles Bridge and Prague castle, on the other side the magnificent building of National theater and monumental Vyšehrad castle. All those must-see places are easily reachable by public transport or walk.
